Our PT session
We are so lucky having parents who contribute to our preschool. Today the children were able to join in a PT session run by one of our lovely Dads. Thanks for your time today Chris - the children loved having you come and teach them about keeping their bodies healthy.
Mothers Day
Celebrating our Mothers with a special morning tea.
Ko te whaea te takere o te waka
Mothers are like the hull of a canoe, they are the heart of the family
Maanakitanga
Maanakitanga - we nurture maanakitanga and respect by encouraging the children to help look after their preschool
Exploring the community
Building on the children’s strengths and interests and nurturing a connection with Papatūānuku by going on an adventure hunting for mushroom. We love getting our and about in the community. Todays adventure inspired by our mushroom expert, Mango, who has been coming into preschool sharing her stories of mushroom hunting with her family.
Celebrating Eid
We had some of families come and share about what Eid means to them and were fortunate to have a brave child come and talk about his prayer mat. We then celebrated with shared lunch and treats for the children.
Learning through Play
Learning through Play! Most of the learning during the early years is done through play. By setting up learning opportunities such as this, the children are exploring scientific concepts such as force, gravity and trial and error. They are also practicing their social learning through turn taking, working collaboratively and observing others.
Celebrating Together
Celebrating Special Moments Together - Today we celebrated a big birthday for Deb’s. We had planned to have a surprise High Tea Party. The children helped to make kai, present the tables and pick flowers. There was lots of giggles as Deb’s arrived in anticipation of Deb’s discovering her special surprise. What a lovely way to all come together and celebrate this special day.
